We heartily congratulate and pray for God's blessings to be upon our brothers and sisters concluding their Hajj.  While we celebrate with family and friends, let us remember this occasion commemorates Prophet Ibrahim's (PBUH) willingness to sacrifice, and Ismail's whole-hearted submission to God's will.  In addition, Ibrahim and Ismail's work and commitment to build the Kaaba is a powerful reminder that both sacrifice and dedication are core aspects of our faith.
In the spirit of Ibrahim and Ismail, we encourage the community to work towards bettering our families, our neighborhoods, our community, and our nation.  We encourage you to find an activity for your family - big or small - that will demonstrate our faith's value of work and sacrifice.
This year's Eid al-Adha falls in close proximity to the anniversary of 9/11.  As American Muslims we should view this as an opportunity to convey the true message of our faith.  And so by contributing to your community, your neighborhood, your family you reflect the spirit of commitment and dedication set so clearly by Ibrahim and Ismail.
Insha'Allah, we look forward to seeing you at Eid prayers, and pray your Eid is a joyous one for you and your family.
We pray we are all renewed by Ibrahim's (PBUH) example.  We pray our community rises to the challenges we face. We soulfully pray for the victims of 9/11, that they be entered into paradise.  We pray for our nation.
May God guide us all as we strive only in His cause.
